General Information

Introduction

For the interpretation of the measurements of the fluorescence component of ultra-high energy showers a precise knowledge of the air fluorescence efficiency and its dependence on particle energy and atmospheric parameters is mandatory. The main goal of this workshop is to bring together the groups performing air-fluorescence studies and to discuss their recent results. The participation of groups directly involved in the analysis of the data provided by fluorescence telescopes is strongly encouraged.

Conference location

The 7th Air Fluorescence workshop will be held at the Best Western Hotel D. Luís, Coimbra, Portugal, on September 22-24, 2010. Hotel D. Luís is situated on the slope of Santa Clara hill, a few minutes drive away from the center of the city. It has a privileged situation with exceptional views over the river Mondego, the river banks and the ancient part of the city. Lunches will be served at the hotel panoramic restaurant.
Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel and is free of charge.

Registration

On-line registration is open and participants are invited to fulfill the registration form as soon as possible. The registration fee is 150€ and includes the conference dinner, lunches from Wednesday to Friday and a visit to the old university. Payment should be made in cash (euros) at the registration desk.

Deadlines

  • July 27th – registration with contribution submission
  • August 24th - registration without contribution submission;
  • August 24th – hotel booking at Hotel D. Luis using the special rates of the conference.
